The worlds first fully automated placement of dental implants took place recently in China.

The robot had been programmed to place 2 implants, and used 3D imaging and a surgical guide to aid placement. The robots prepared the site and placed the fixtures.

A video of the procedure is available here. Other robotic developments include a surgical robot called Yomi, that has been developed in the US that guides the surgeons arm whilst performing operations. YA
